Frequently Asked Questions

What is a children’s residential care home?

A children’s residential care home provides a safe, supportive living environment for children and young people who are unable to live with their families. Care is delivered 24 hours a day by trained staff who support each child’s emotional, educational, and social needs.

Who do you care for?

We support children and young people aged up to 18 who may have experienced trauma, instability, or complex life circumstances. Each placement is carefully considered to ensure we can meet the child’s individual needs.

What types of needs do you support?

We support children with emotional and behavioural needs, attachment difficulties, and those who require stability and consistent care. Support plans are tailored to each child and reviewed regularly.

Is the home registered and inspected?

Yes. Our home is fully registered with Ofsted and is inspected regularly to ensure we meet all regulatory standards for safety, care quality, and outcomes for children.

How is each child’s care planned?

Every child has an individual placement plan and care plan developed in partnership with the local authority, professionals, and the child themselves. These plans focus on wellbeing, education, health, emotional development, and future goals.

How do you support education?

Education is a priority. We work closely with schools, virtual schools, and other education providers to support attendance, learning, and progress. Staff provide encouragement, homework support, and advocacy where needed.

How do you keep children safe?

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Staff are fully trained in safeguarding procedures, risk management, and positive behaviour support. Clear policies are in place to protect children and promote their welfare at all times.

What qualifications do your staff have?

Our staff are carefully recruited, DBS-checked, and trained to nationally recognised standards. Ongoing training and supervision ensure staff are skilled, consistent, and emotionally supportive.

How do you support children’s emotional wellbeing?

We provide a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where children feel listened to, valued, and respected. Emotional support is built into daily care, and we work with external professionals such as therapists when required.

How do you prepare young people for independence?

We support young people to develop life skills such as budgeting, cooking, decision-making, and emotional resilience, helping them prepare for adulthood and the next stage of their lives.
